After appearing at the first NXT TAKEOVER: BROOKLYN as a member of the audience, Asuka officially inks a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, and the company announces her addition to the roster in a press conference the next day.

Asuka debuted at the NXT taping just two days later. Just seven months after her debut match, Asuka defeated Bayley for the NXT Womenโ€™s Championship. She held the title until this week. She vacated the championship and handed over the belt after a 510-day reign, due to an injury she suffered at NXT TAKEOVER: BROOKLYN III.
