On September 21st, 1933, Salvador Lutteroth Gonzales promoted his first professional wrestling card under the banner of Empresa Mexicana de la Lucha Libre, which came to be known worldwide as simply EMLL.

In the mid-80s, the promotion became known as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libreย (CMLL), and at 85 years of existence, is the oldest surviving wrestling promotion in the world.
