On September 18th, 1994, at the Roanoke Civic Center during WCW Fall Brawl, Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat was forced to forfeit the WCW United States Championship due to a back injury he suffered at Clash of the Champions.

Although Steamboat would later be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and make appearances for the company, his departure from WCW marked essentially his retirement from in-ring competition. Regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time, Steamboat’s achievements place him among the best of his era.
