Russo and Ferrara, known for their “crash-TV” style on WWF’s RAW and Smackdown, had constructed a deal with WCW after meeting secretly with officials in Atlanta. The move was initially seen as a significant setback for WWF and a potential advantage for WCW.

However, their approach in WCW, including the ‘New Blood’ angle, was met with criticism from long-time fans. Less than two years after their arrival, WCW was sold to WWF in the spring of 2001.

Quick Tip for Facebook Readers
Many of our readers find us through our Facebook page. Meta's built in browser (which opens by default on mobile) can occasionally freeze mid article, a known issue unrelated to our site. For uninterrupted reading: tap the three dots in the top right corner then select 'Open in external browser'. That usually resolves the glitch.
