Today in Pro Wrestling History (September 22): The Brain Makes it to Broadway
On September 22nd, 1984, at Madison Square Garden, Bobby Heenan made his WWF debut, managing Big John Studd who defeated WWF Champion Hulk Hogan by countout.

Heenan had originally joined the WWF from the American Wrestling Association to manage Jesse “The Body” Ventura. However, blood clots in Ventura’s lungs prevented him from competing that night and would eventually lead to the end of his in-ring career.
