It would be used as the kickoff to the company’s reboot, ECW on Sci-Fi, which premieredย two nights later.

The main event featured a bit of a culture shock and was the highlight of the night, as Rob Van Dam defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship. The New York crowd was solidly behind Van Dam, while screaming profanity at Cena and nearly booing him out of the building.
After multiple referees were knocked out of the action, former ECW owner Paul Heyman made the three count.
