Luger had left WCW nearly a year earlier and had been out of wrestling action while serving as the face of Vince McMahon’s World Bodybuilding Federation. Additionally, a motorcycle accident caused multiple injuries, delaying his wrestling return. After recovery and resolving contractual obligations, Luger began his heel run in WWF, later transitioning to a babyface role as ‘The All American.’
