The accident occurred in the aftermath of a show at the Georges-Vézina Arena in Chicoutimi, Quebec. After the event, Lefebvre, Tyler, and Desbois were traveling back to Montreal.

Unfortunately, they encountered a severe snowstorm, which created perilous driving conditions.

It was during this journey, amidst the hazardous weather and treacherous roads of Laurentian Park, that the tragic accident happened, resulting in the loss of their lives.
