Today in Pro Wrestling History (September 20): The Final Stand for a Man Called Sting
On September 20th, 2015, at The Toyota Center, Seth Rollins defeated Sting to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This match turned out to be Stingโ€™s final one, as he suffered a neck injury during the bout. He underwent surgery later that year to correct cervical spinal stenosis.

Sting then announced his formal retirement during his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in April 2016.
