WRESTLING THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY
A wrestling theme party is perfect for younger WWE fans. With a little imagination, it’s easy to turn your living room or backyard into the squared circle with your birthday superstar at the center of it all.
The Main Event
Include both Raw and SmackDown LIVE colors in your decor. Use silver and black for both but add red on one side of the room or yard for Raw and blue on the other side for SmackDown LIVE. Use bright blue and red plates, napkins, cups and tablecloths for table decor.
Party City also has amazing prices on licensed WWE party goods that you can use to incorporate the WWE theme. You can get anything from individual party goods to full-blown complete kits with everything you need based on the number of children.
As each guest arrives, give them a blank name tag to decorate with their own “wrestling name”. They can also choose from a hat filled with names you’ve come up with in advance to get their persona of the day.
Print wreslting images from the internet (or cut out from wrestling magazines) and hang them throughout the room. Have silver, black, red and blue helium balloons tied onto each chair to help form a ring.
Have face painting to decorate each child’s face to go with their wrestling name. Let them choose from dollar store accessories to go with their look (sunglasses, fancy hats, bandanas, wigs). Check out a professional wrestling magazine or the internet for ideas based on the professionals.
Set up a small table for thumb or arm wrestling matches. Make a copy of a wrestling belt to give to the overall winner as a prize.
Take a poster board and paint it blue and red. Glue pictures of favorite WWE wrestlers on it. Make copies of the WWE belt to play a wrestling-themed version of pin the tail on the donkey. Whoever gets their belt closest to a wrestler is the winner (and that wrestler is declared the champion for the day).
The Concession Stand
Kids love sports event foods. The same types of foods that are sold at concessions Tandy’s are easy to serve at home. Hot dogs, pizza, fries, and sodas are fan favorites.
For the cake, an easy wrestling themed cake is made by turning an oblong cake into a wrestling ring. First, dye the frosting you’re using black. Cut the unfrosted cake down the middle, then stack the layers together, securing them with frosting. Frost the top and sides of the cake. Use thick pretzel rods around the top to create the corners and black licorice for the ropes. Copy the W from WWE and outline it in blue or red in the center of the ring.
This is where a party store shines. You can get cool wrestling themed favors for a fraction of the cost of making something yourself. You can also go for WWE trading cards. If you’ve got a big budget, get something for each guest from the WWE website.
