Today in Pro Wrestling History September 29
On September 29th, 1985, at The Omni, after Ric Flair defeats Nikita Koloff to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev close the cage door and gang up on Flair.

In an unexpected twist, Dusty Rhodes comes in to save Flair from the attack. However, Ole and Arn Anderson rush in, lock the cage, and along with Flair, turn on and attack Rhodes.

Flair applies the figure four leglock until the door is finally opened.

This incident not only set up their matchup at Starrcade but also planted the seeds for what would eventually become The Four Horsemen.
