This historic match was the first in WWF history where both the WWF World and Intercontinental Championships were on the line simultaneously.
Following his victory, The Ultimate Warrior vacated the Intercontinental title, leading to Curt Hennig (Mr. Perfect) winning the title in a tournament final against Tito Santana three weeks later.
The newly opened SkyDome provided an acoustic backdrop that amplified the excitement of the Canadian crowd.
