For many years, The Fabulous Moolah held immense power as a prominent figure in professional wrestling.

She was a dominant force in the ring, renowned as the top female wrestler in the industry for over three decades. Her influence as a trainer and promoter further solidified her legacy.

Before Becoming The Fabulous Moolah Moolah (then going by her real name Lillian Ellison) made her debut by approaching Billy Wolfe, who controlled most of the bookings for women wrestlers and especially his star and wife, Mildred Burke.

Wolfe decided to make her the valet of a newcomer known as Elephant Boy (Tony Olivas). This created controversy because he was a very dark-skinned Hispanic wrestler billed as being from "darkest Africa."
