Lita's Secret Struggles and Triumphs on the Untold Journey!

Pro Wrestling Stories

Amy Christine Dumas, born on April 14th, 1975, grew up in a challenging environment. Her mother took care of the family and home, shielding Amy and her brother Billy from their father.

Amy's life took an unexpected turn when she befriended an unnamed punk girl who happened to be a strip club dancer. Intrigued by the potential for good money, the friend suggested Amy try it herself, and she decided to take the unconventional path.

Before becoming a wrestler, Amy Dumas worked as a roadie for the band Fifteen while also playing bass guitar in her own band, 3 Card Trick. It’s worth noting that Fifteen is sometimes mistakenly attributed to being 7 Seconds, which was actually just one of Amy’s favorite bands.

The future Lita continued moving around the East Coast for the next few years until she settled in Virginia. She moved to be closer to her then-boyfriend, who was the person who introduced her to wrestling.

Initially, WCW Nitro didn't catch Amy's attention, but gradually, the stories, fashion, and toughness depicted in professional wrestling drew her in, and she became invested in the sport.

While becoming a fan, being a wrestler never crossed her mind until she saw Rey Mysterio in the ring. She became so devoted that her license plate at the time read REYJR1.

She could have easily been another wrestling casualty. From devastating injuries to WWE using her as a pawn during scandalous controversies, discover the surprising untold story of Amy Dumas, the woman behind Lita.
