Ring of Honor Wrestling to Return to Vegas in 2018 for 16th Anniversary
The Ring of Honor (ROH) Wrestling bandwagon is all set to roll back into Las Vegas in March for two epic events as part of the franchise’ 16th anniversary celebrations on the 9th and 10th of March. It will be the fourth successive year that Sin City has played host to ROH Wrestling’s anniversary celebrations. 2018 is set to be another exciting year for the world of ROH, with a number of up-and-coming wrestlers set to make an impact on the big stage of Vegas.
Vegas, which remains the entertainment capital of the world despite Macau fast becoming the leader for gaming revenue, will bring out the very best of some of those who finished 2017 strongly and will look to reach even greater heights in the next 12 months. The two-day Vegas event, held at Sam’s Town Live with tickets available purchase here, will feature the following ROH wrestlers to keep an eye on in 2018:
Shane Taylor – The Cleveland-born pro will almost certainly be a fearsome prospect for most in 2018, particularly after the Rebellion’s disbandment, which left him looking for redemption and appearing more dangerous than ever. ‘One Punch Shane’ has made no secret of his desire to secure some big paydays for his family in 2018, but if he opts for title match-ups rather than matches that will guarantee him an extra zero on his paycheck, he could conceivably become an ROH great.
Kelly Klein – Klein has been leading the way in the Women of Honor (WOH) for the last 24 months, having yet to face a submission or being pinned down in any WOH event. Kelly Klein has not only been an up-and-coming star State-side, she has also made waves in Japan for Stardom, which is the world’s number-one wrestling promotion for female wrestlers. It’s highly likely that Klein will be becoming the first WOH Champion.
Flip Gordon – Having arrived to the ROH scene in spring 2017, Flip Gordon has caught the eye with some incredibly audacious and acrobatic offensive moves and it must surely be a matter of time until he starts picking up more victories. Towards the back end of 2017, Gordon looked to be developing an interesting rivalry with Bullet Club, having been singled out by the leading faction. His confidence and swagger show no signs of diminishing however and he will certainly be one to keep an eye on in 2018.
Punishment Martinez – The self-titled ‘Creeper of Violence’ was a fearsome prospect throughout ROH last year. Martinez prevailed in November’s Survival of the Fittest event, pinning down previous ROH World champ Jay Lethal before lasting longer than the likes of Flip Gordon and co. to secure a tilt at a ROH World Title in 2018. Although 2017 was a truly ground-breaking one for Martinez, his prospects for 2018 are even more exciting.
Rest assured, those unable to secure tickets for the 16th anniversary event in Vegas will be able to watch the action unfold live on pay-per-view via the official ROH Wrestling website. Those new to purchasing pay-per-view ROH streams should go to the official site and click on the ‘PPV’ tab for further details. Now is the time to get involved in the States’ second-biggest professional wrestling promotion.
